Many surveys had
clearly mentioned in their report that child poverty, negligence, and school
failure are the major outcomes of single motherhood. The children raised by
only one of their biological parents remain underprivileged and may face
serious complications in their life. The children are more likely to face
school dropout, to become teen mothers, and more expected to sit idle in
comparison to children who grow with both parents. This is universally accepted
fact that having only one wage earner in the home can put children at the
threat of poverty. Living in poverty may cause the children to experience certain
emotional effects including low self-esteem, augmented anger, irritation and an
increased risk for merciless behaviour. Children raised in single parenting may
face the feelings of abandonment, sadness, the loneliness
that prevent them from socialising and connecting with others.
