Lyrica; a mighty remedy to nerve pain

George has a good memory, especially when it comes to remembering his Idiopathic Neuropathy; the recollection comes organically, not with even the faintest of ambiguity. He was at a hill station with his wife, he went on to climb a hillock but could not, there was this strange feeling he encountered, it was as if he could not feel his legs, he could move no forward, he sat down and felt his legs, there was no sensation, just a very annoying heat as if it was burning. He went to a doctor and was later referred to a neurologist. There his examination began, the sensations were lost to an extent that he could feel nothing even when they inserted pin in those parts. The suspicion of doctor came true and he was diagnosed with neuropathy. He had to go through many tests, the most important ones includes Electromyogram (EGM), after all the tests it turned out his neuropathy was idiopathic in nature, the cause could not be confirmed. The loss of sensation on the other hand was moving to parts and along with it came a numbing pain, a pain so horrible, George would start to scream. Initially, the pain subsided when with painkillers later as the disease progressed, they were of no use and sometimes they showed no effects at all. George had to eventually change his doctor.

They too were unable to find any cause for the condition but after some advanced tests, they came to a conclusion that he could be treated. George was given very extensive treatment, and for the issue of nerve pain he was given Generic Lyrica Tablets. This drug worked wonders for George, along with other therapies and medications, he is now able to move properly, he limps at times but that would gradually go says his doctor. As far as the pain is concerned, all he has to do is take Lyrica timely.

Lyrica is an excellent nerve pain medication that is highly effective in neutralizing pain which is caused by nerve damage due to many reasons. Lyrica contains Pregabalin as its chief active agent which helps in management of pain, thus improving the mobility and quality of life of the patient. Lyrica is found effective in treatment of nerve pain arising from various sources like diabetes, herpes zoster, spinal cord injury, and the condition of fibromyalgia.

Pregabalin is a very potent medication that works as both, a pain killer and an anticonvulsant. Lyrica presumably exerts its effects by lowering down the discharge of neurotransmitters that are calcium-dependent which leads to the barricading of pain signals sent by the damaged nerves to the central nervous system (CNS). This is how Lyrica exerts its effects.

Lyrica is commercially obtainable in a variety of dosing strengths of 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, and 300mg and as an oral preparation. For the management of pain arising from diabetic neuropathy, the most recommended dose of Lyrica is 50 mg, taken three times a day, the dose can be taken 300mg (to be taken in divided doses) maintaining a gap of 1-week. In case of spinal cord injury, take 150 to 600mg Lyrica per day by ingesting with the lowest dose of 75mg for two times a daily. The management of nerve pain due to shingles requires 75-150mg Lyrica taken two times each day or you can also take 50-100mg of Lyrica, three times per day.

The most occurring side effects of this medication are weariness, increased hunger, lethargy, constipation, headache, speech disturbance, unclear vision, dizziness and edema.
